Netflix just emailed me that my credit card could not be authorized and that I should re-submit it or enter a new card to continue my two week free trial….Now, to begin the trial I gave my credit card info as collateral, per their requirement. My online bank statement showed the monthly amount for them being”held back”. That means it was authorized. I cancelled my account. Has anyone else had Netflix probs like this?

  I had this problem with another company.
  That extra authorization should be removed in about 8 days.

  For example you have $20.00 in your account.
  Then merchant authorize if for $11.00
  Then the actual charge go through for $11.00

  That a total of $22.00 So the merchant didn’t merge transaction properly.

  Some banks won’t let you delay payments either with a debit card.

  That why lillian vernon say’s defered payment will not work with debit cards. I wrote them about it. They said some do but most do not. You card is actual authorized that amount. So you wouldn’t be able to use it anyways.

  the only way i know of is if you mess around with the registry which is not recommended or to reformat your pc with a clean install but is not worth it.

  don’t go with Norton. as it is probably one of the worst scanners out there IMO. don’t be cheap and buy bit defender, or CA internet security.

  the program tells the computer to track how days you suppose to have that program and after uninstalled there still a little bit of info on that program stopping you from using the demo program after the expiration date
• Generally no, they build that into the software so it can’t be done. Even if you remove all the files and delete the directory there are still hidden files on your system that keep the first install date on it.
• no unless you manage to completely clean norton 360 off your system including registery, etc. but you might be able to get around it by changing your system clock to an earlier day after uninstalling and then try reinstalling on that date.
• No you can’t do that. It is recorded on the registry. You have to buy the program to use it longer.
• With some programs you can do that, and with some you can’t. With a program as widely used as Norton 360 I doubt that it would work.
• Your ISP may offer something. For example, Comcast offers a free McAfee suite.
• You can try, but it usually doesn’t work.
• not sure but i would guess not early on but i would wait a while and see if you can like in 2 months
