Free Trial Empire

I just signed up for xbox live on my new xbox 360 today. My friends got the same packs as i did and it offered them a free tiral month of xbox live gold, why didnt i get it, when i got the same pack as they did? did i miss it maybe? where does it ask? can you help me please?

Best Answer: I just made my wife a gamer profile and she wanted a silver account. So I went and made her a hotmail account then signed into her gamer profile on the xbox 360, I selected the join xbox live button in the marketplace blade and it checked the availability of the gamer profile name. I had to change the name to something new and selected done. It popped up a screen that wanted to know what xbox live gold membership I wanted, I selected none. It went to another screen with the options “back” or “keep silver account” at the bottom, I selected “keep silver account” and it popped up another screen with the “we are giving you a 1 month free trial of xbox live gold” with the option “continue” at the bottom of the screen. There was a couple of more options after that but they were pretty much it and my wife had an xbox live gold account for 1 month( we could both play ranked halo 3 on the same xbox 360, it was great)

also, the free trials are linked to the console, so depending on your console build date, maybe 360’s made after a certain date don’t come with the free trials anymore, mine was built in Dec. ‘05

• try hooking it up to the internet like if you had live (if you didnt get the card) and it might let you set it up from there.
  it happend to my friend, if all else fails, call wherever you bought it from and tell them, and they should give you a free one…
